New Delhi: Restructuring and expansion of the cabinet will take place at 10 am on Sunday, prior to the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Xiamen, China, for the BRICS summit.
It will be the third such exercise since he took office as Prime Minister in May 2014.
“A process has been launched for the swearing-in ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan around 10 am on Sunday,” a government official told the PTI.
The new ministers will be sworn in the same day, ANI reported.
A reorganization in the cabinet has been due for months. Two key ministries were opened after M Venkaiah Naidu was appointed Vice President. The Ministry of the Environment was reassigned to Harsh Vardhan as an additional charge after the death of Minister Anil Dave.
