Revised Royal Enfield Twin Bike in Pune
The Royal Enfield Continental GT double cylinder has been seen on several occasions both in India and abroad. However, the motorcycle has been detected again in Pune. As espionage images suggest, the test bike looks almost like the Continental GT in terms of design and style and even has the same chassis. However, it has a new 750cc twin cylinder engine that is expected to produce 60Nm of maximum torque. It is likely that the motor has a 270 degree firing command, as this configuration offers minimal vibrations with optimum power supply. Another interesting feature of the motorcycle is the twin exhaust system.
The bike was probably taken to the Indian Automotive Research Association (ARAI) for testing and was hauling a Royal Enfield transport truck with a Tamil Nadu license plate. This probably means that the bike was taken to Pune all the way from the Royal Enfield manufacturing plant in Chennai. The dual-cylinder engine of the motorcycle is expected to be an oil-cooled unit similar to that of the Himalayas. As seen in the photos above, the bike uses a Clubman style handlebars, mainly for a relaxed ergonomics compared to the conventional Continental GT.
The new bike gets a dual-sheathed instrument set with a digital display on the left to display the odometer, odometer and fuel level. Pirelli tire wheels are put on wheels. We expect the motorcycle to obtain an ABS system as standard. The motorcycle watches production ready and we are affirmative in the fact that Royal Enfield will exhibit the motorcycle at the 2017 EICMA Expo in Milano, Italy and at the Automobile Expo 2018 in Delhi, India. We expect it to cost Rs 3.5 – 4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will face the Harley-Davidson Street 750 competition.
Watch out for this space for more information on the motorcycle.
