SHARP launches the world’s first air purifier with a built-in mosquito catcher
SHARP has announced the launch of the world’s first air purifier with mosquito catcher. FP-FM40E is an air purifier that combines Sharp’s proprietary Plasmacluster ion technology and non-toxic mosquito trap mechanism to eliminate micro and macroscopic contaminants present in indoor air.
The air purifier not only reduces exacerbations of asthma due to exposure to airborne allergens, but also catches pesky insects like mosquitoes as a preventive measure for diseases transmitted by mosquitoes such as dengue, chikungunya and malaria. Transmission of diseases such as dengue requires mosquitoes as vectors; Therefore the spread of dengue can be limited by reducing mosquito populations with the help of this device.
With its 5-step, non-chemical mosquito trap, the purifier effectively captures mosquitoes and fruit flies. It has a black exterior with a small entrance on both sides to attract nearby mosquitoes. UV lights attract mosquitoes that are captured by the suction air that catches them on a sheet of strong glue.
Using negative ions, Sharp air purifiers help clean and cool indoor air contaminated by deactivating mildew, viruses, bacteria and VOCs and toxic gases. Equipped with true HEPA filter, purifiers can capture 99.97 percent of the air particles such as smoke, dust and pollen that is as small as 0.03 microns.
Covering a surface area of up to 300 square feet, Sharp FP-FM40E is priced at Rs 26,000 and is available exclusively through the Amazon e-commerce website.
