Most directors make at least one movie a year. But, the new crop is taking a long time to make a movie. Young directors like Sudheer Varma, Chandu Mondeti, Sujit, Sriram Aditya and Tharun Bhasker are very popular and there are great expectations of them. But, they are taking at least two years to switch from one project to another.
Take, for example, Sudheer Varma. He has been in the industry for five years and made only three films, two of them with his friend Nikhil. Chando Mondeti made two films in four years. Srira Adithya made Samanthaka Mani. His next project is two years away. Sujit is busy with Saaho of Prabhas. But, this comes a full three years after his first film. Tharun Bhaskar made award winning Pelli Chupulu. But, his next project is still undecided.
The previous group like Sukumar, Koratala Siva, and Trivikram Srinivas are making at least one movie a year. When will the young managers change their gears?
