The Hacker website is hacked by the victim
Every second day, we hear about the website of some organization or the internal networks that are hacked. The hacking community is developing its digital weapons arsenal faster than the technology industry by developing ways to protect personal data on computers. However, technology techies also know a trick or two to get back to their attackers in their own ways, which was recently demonstrated by ProtonMail.
Someone was sending fake messages to ProtonMail users by reading, “You have a bill expired.” The message led users to a phishing website with fake ProtonMail login window. The company got to know him and he quarreled with the taste of the medicine of the attacker: they hacked the website of hackers.
ProtonMail even boasted the same thing on Twitter, stating that they also hacked the phishing website and finally dropped it. The entrance was taken too late. When Twitter user x0rz took a screenshot of it and posted it to his account, ProtonMail asked him to delete it. It was even said to the motherboard that the post was promoting something that may not have happened in the first place. “For reasons you could probably understand, we did not really comment on the file regarding phishing attempts, and we can not confirm or deny if anything happened,” they added.
ProtonMail can take into account ethical practices that an organization should not follow, which could be the reason for denying the claim. However, this is one of the ways to discourage hackers from gaining control over the property of others and causing harm. With luck, the ProtonMail attacker received his lesson.
