Madhur Bhandarkar’s film, Indu Sarkar, is based on the emergency imposed when Indira Gandhi was prime minister during the 1970s. First glance The movie poster gave the impression that Kirti Kulhari and Neil Nitin Mukesh are playing the roles of Indira Gandhi and his son Sanjay Gandhi, respectively.
Congress was of the opinion that “Indu Sarkar” is fully sponsored by few individuals to tarnish the image of the Gandhi Family with false representations. The National Party said it is very aware of the organization and the person behind the film.
Whereas, Madhur Bhandarkar made it clear that it is important for today’s generation to need to know what happened during the emergency. The filmmaker just expects Censor Board does not create any obstacles to the launch.
‘Indu Sarkar’ are key events that took place over a period of 21 months from 1975 to 1977.
