The entire principle cast of Baahubali got tremendous recognition and appreciation from movie lovers for breathing life into the characters assigned to them. Veteran actress Ramya Krishnan has won laurels for her powerful performance in the film’s most powerful character, Rajamata Sivagami.
By now, it is very much known to everyone that Ramya Krishna was not the first choice of Rajamouli to essay Sivagami but Sridevi was. The ‘English Vinglish’ actress however couldn’t come on board as she and Baahubali makers were not on the same page in remuneration aspect.
As per reports, when Rajamouli narrated the role of Sivagami, Sridevi very much liked it. She then quoted a whopping Rs 5 crore remuneration. As the makers were already shelling out hundreds of crores on the film’s production, they couldn’t splurge the exorbitant sum asked by the veteran diva.
Ramya Krishna however accepted the role for only Rs 2.5 crore and did complete justice. The impact created by Ramya as Sivagami is so huge that no other actor can now be imagined in that character other than her.
That’s how Sridevi lost the golden chance to be part of India’s biggest blockbuster.
