World Cup: Kumar Sangakkara Creates History, Sri Lanka Crush Scotland become second in Group A
Kumar Sangakkara became the first batsman to score four consecutive one-day centuries as Sri Lanka thrashed Scotland by 148 runs in the World Cup in Hobart on Wednesday.
The left-hander hit 124 off 95 balls and Tillakaratne Dilshan made 104 as the islanders piled 363 for nine, then rolled Scotland for 215 in 43.1 overs in the Group A match at Bellerive Oval. (Scorecard)
Skipper Preston Mommsen (60) and Freddie Coleman (70) put on 118 for the fourth wicket but they provided the only Scottish seamer Nuwan Kulasekara challenge as Dushmantha Chameera and grabbed three wickets each.

Sri Lanka finished the league with four wins in six games and now expect undecided opponent in the first quarterfinal at the Sydney Cricket Ground on March 18.
Scottish fifth straight loss means they will take a flight home early after their final league match against Australia at the same venue on Saturday.
Sangakkara, 37, who will retire from one-day cricket after the World Cup, had made 105 not against Bangladesh, an unbeaten 117 and 104 against England against Australia.
He is the top scorer of the tournament underway with 496 runs in six matches, followed in second by 395 runs Dilshan 38 years of age.
