Savitri’s biopic Mahanati is getting bigger with each passing day. The latest we hear is that none other than heartthrob Dulquer Salman is going to play Gemini Ganesan in the film. Since Gemini Ganesan plays significant part in Savitri’s life, Dulquer’s role will be pivotal in the film that chronicles the life and times of Savitri.
Director Nag Ashwin, of Yevade Subramanyam fame, is said to be leaving no leaf unturned to make the film a classic and said to have prepared a perfect script. Keerthy Suresh is essaying titular role of Savitri. Meanwhile, the suspense over the most anticipated roles of legends NTR, ANR continue. While a few speculations had it that Samantha would be roped in to play Jamuna’s character, there has no official confirmation on it yet.
With a good budget, the film is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages simultaneously. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema are jointly producing the film. If all goes as per plan, the film will roll on to the floors as soon as the makers are done with the casting process.
